Indore, July 11 (UNI) BJP National Spokesperson Prakash Javadekar today said the party would launch a nationwide agitation in protest of rising prices.

Mr Javadekar told reporters here that party president Rajnath Singh would lead the agitation.

He described the Centre's expectations from state governments to reduce taxes after raising prices of petrol and diesel as wrong.

He demanded that the Centre rollback the price rise in petroleum products and call a meeting of all Chief Ministers to frame a policy.

He suggested to reduce the impact of rising prices on poor people by selling pulses and edible oils besides wheat and rice at ration shops.

Stressing on the need for ensuring full price to farmers for their produce, Mr Javadekar demanded removing certain items from 'Vayda Bazaar'.

Regarding multinational corporations exporting wheat back to India after importing it from the country, he said wheat was being imported by a company, which also had the license to export.

He accused the Congress of deliberately degrading the position of Prime Minister, as no minister or allies used to listen to him.

The power centre was not with the Prime Minister but at the Janpath, he said.

''Sycophancy reached its pinnacle when a 'yagya' was performed for Italy's victory in the World Cup Football,'' he said, adding that Italy's victory was hailed as a victory of Rahul Gandhi's maternal home.

The Congress had to face defeat in assembly elections after the UPA came to power at the Centre. The Congress lost Kerala elections recently.

Commenting upon expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti's newly formed Bharatiya Janshakti, he said the Election Commission had recognised the BJ but not the public.

''BJP did not come to power in Madhya Pradesh due to Ms Bharti.

The party had come to power earlier also,'' Mr Javadekar added.
