70 agitating company employees nabbed after cane charge
Nagpur, July 11 (UNI) Police today arrested over 70 people of about 200 company employees, who were agitating for the reinstatement of their colleagues, in the company premises in the MIDC industrial area here.
Police said KRC International employees, who were on strike demanding reinstatement of Raju Phadke, who was sacked by the company. Since their demand was turned down, the striking workers resorted to 'dharna' in front of the company and gate-crashed damaging the company's property.
Sensing trouble, the company officers summoned the policemen who resorted to cane-charge to disburse the the agitating employees indulging in unlawful activities.
Over 70 employees, including 35 women, were arrested in this connection, they added.
