15 killed in serial blasts in Mumbai local trains
Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) At least 15 people were killed and many injured AS serial bomb blasts in local trains at five places rocked the metropolis this evening.
The Railway Police Force(RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) sealed all blast sites and stopped the Western Suburban railway service immediately after the explosions.
The five blasts took place in the vicinity of Khar Road, Mira Road, Matunga, Jogeshwari and Borivali railway stations.
The explosion on the Matunga-Khar route was the most severe.
All the blasts occurred on moving trains plying on the Western suburban route.
According to available information, Police Commissioner A N Roy was going around the blast sites to take stock of the situation, along with other top railway officials.
Meanwhile, the state government has sounded a red alert and security has been beefed up at all sensitive installations.
