147 dead, 439 injured in Mumbai serial blasts: CM
Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said that 147 persons have died and 439 injured in the seven powerful bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai's suburban western railway services during evening peak hours.
Addressing a press conference after chairing an emergency cabinet meeting, Mr Deshmukh said two blasts had occured while the trains in the stations while five were on moving trains.
He announced an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh to the kin of those killed in the blasts.
Similarly, Rs 50,000 would be given to each of the injured, he added.
He said the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) would investigate the blasts, assisted by central intelligence agencies.
The blasts took place between 1825 hrs and 1840 hrs.
