Villagers block traffic for power supply
Bhopal, July 10 (UNI) Movement of traffic on the Kolar Road at the city outskirts remained suspended for over two hours today as the residents of few villages blocked all vehicles at the bridge on the Kaliasot river to protest delay in providing electricity connections.
Office-goers, particularly employees of several government offices, had a harrowing time as they were stranded amid rain on both sides of the bridge, the only link between the main city and about 200 housing colonies on the Kolar Road.
The agitators, though few in number, lifted the blockade after two hours with the administrative officers assuring to consider their demands.
Initially, less than half a dozen police personnel were available to handle the agitators. After about two hours, additional reinforcement came and senior police officers, including Additional Superintendent of Police G K Pathak, reached the spot.
