Tiger census in MP
Bhopal, July 10(UNI) Tiger population in Madhya Pradesh has been estimated at 712 at present, but census of wildlife in parks and sanctuaries will soon be undertaken afresh in a scientific manner, Forest Minister Himmat Kothari said today.
On the Centre's directive, Wildlife Institute of India was imparting census training to the Forest personnel of the state, Mr Kothari told reporters here.
Efforts were being made to get lions and tigers from the Gir forest in Gujarat under a Central scheme, he added.
