Sreedevi assumes chairperson office

Pondicherry,July 10(UNI) Dr B Sreedevi of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(DMK), elected as the Pondicherry municipal chairperson assumed office here today.

Local administration department director Mr Vallabhan administered the oath of office to Sridevi.

As many as 42 municipal councillors also took oath at the function organised at the Gandhi Thidal here this evening.

Pondicherry chief minister N Rangasamy,Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, Prof M Ramadass MP and legislators were among others, who participated in the function.

A large crowd witnessed the swearing-in of their leaders.
