SIS gets ISO 27001 certification from BSI

Chennai, Jul 10: Sundaram Infotech Solutions (SIS), the IT services arm of five decade old Sundaram Finance Ltd, has been awarded ISO 27001 certification, a worldwide certification, for professional management of data.

This certification attains special significance as it comes in the wake of the recent announcement by SIS to target overseas markets, including Middle East and US.

SIS, which focuses primarily on the Financial Services and Manufacturing verticals, has a 50,000 sq ft software development facility in the city and would be doubling its infrastructure presence to over 1,00,000 sq ft this year, a company release here said.

SIS was currently in the process of hiring over 500 professionals and will be trebling its headcount in Chennai to over 750 employees.

Awarded by British Standards Institution(BSI), the ISO 27001 gives assurance to clients that management of data was as per international standards.
