Shimla LIC division had outstanding performance
Shimla, July 10 (UNI) The Shimla division of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has become the first among the 100 divisions in the country achieving first premium income (FPI) and a growth rate of 117.84 per cent this year, Senior Divisional Manager MK Kimmu said today.
The Shimla division sold 321,422 policies with FPI amounting to Rs 265.71 crore, while the Future Plus policy fetched a record premium of Rs 186.07 crore under 39,445 policies during 2005-06, he said at a press conference here.
Mr Kimmu said during the first quarter of the current financial year, the LIC sold 47,373 policies with FPI amounting to Rs 154.37 crore, showing a growth of 67.50 per cent in number of policies and 461.78 per cent growth in FPI as compared to the same period last year.
Under the newly launched policy ''Market Plus'', policies of Rs 1.25 crore had already been sold against annual target of Rs three crore, which was likely to be achieved by September this year, he said.
He said the LIC had earned a premium of Rs 124 crore and Rs 22.42 crore respectively from two policies of ''Future Plus'' and ''Jeevan Plus'' during the first three months during of this financial year and helped in achieving 54 per cent target.
