SGPC executive indicts Maan and his associates
Ludhiana, July 10 (UNI) The executive committee of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has indicted Simarnjit Singh Maan and his associates for showing dishonour to Sri Guru Granth Sahib during quadricentennial celebrations of foundation of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib on July 2nd.
The decision was taken in its meeting held under the chairmanship of SGPC president Sardar Avtar Singh at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Alamgir here yesterday.
The executive committee has requested Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Giani Joginder Singh to award a strong punishment to Maan and his associates. The committee has also warned the supporters of Mr Maan and his associates against opposing the decision of five Jathedars.
The meeting which was attended by senior vice president Raghujit Singh Virk, junior vice president Kewal Singh Badal, general secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, Suba Singh Dabwali, Sant Tek Singh Dhanola, Rajinder Singh Mehta, Santokh Singh Samra, Gurbachan Singh Karmoowal, Gurinderpal Singh Gora, Dyal Singh Kolianwali, Surjit Singh Garhi, Bibi Bhajan Kaur Dogranwala, Avtar Singh Chakuludana and Sukhwinder Sidhu, all executive committee members, also decided to set up 84 centers to distribute the Guru Granth Sahib at different gurdwaras. 20 centers would be set up in the gurdwaras of Punjab and 60 in gurdwaras in rest of the country.
