Security on high alert on eve of AT's raising day tomorrow
Agartala, July 10 (UNI) The Tripura government has made elaborate security arrangements on the eve of militant outfit All Tripura Tiger Force's (ATTF) 'raising day' tomorrow, to foil any attempt to disturb peace, specially in the tribal dominated areas.
Talking to UNI here today, a senior police official said all police stations and outposts in rural areas, particularly in the extremist-dominated areas, were put on high alert.
Anti-insurgency operations had already been started by the security forces to flush out militants from the interior areas following the ATTF's attempt to observe the raising day.
The ATTF observes July 11 as its raising day every year. However, there were no reports of violence during the last few years following the security forces' alertness, the officer said.
Sources said the ATTF has asked the traders not to open their shops in the remote areas tomorrow.
Security forces are keeping round-the-clock vigil and would take action to foil any attempt to disturb the prevailing peace, official added.
