RJD demands resignation of JD(U) MP

Patna, Jul 10 (UNI) The RJD today demanded resignation of Ajit Singh, JD(U) MP from Bikramganj, for his alleged involvement in misappropriation of government fund and holding office of profit.

National general secretary of RJD Shyam Rajak said Rs 17 crore were made available to Land Development Bank for distribution of loans for Shallow Tubewell Projects. He alleged that the loan was distributed in fake names when Mr Singh was the chairman of Land Development Bank. The JD(U) leader had resigned after the matter was raised by the RJD, he added.

Mr Rajak alleged that Mr Singh was holding office of profit in 10 institutions, including that of Chairman of NAFED, Tapendu Urban Coperative Bank and Deep Narain Singh regional cooperative institute while Director of Bihar state coperative bank and BISCOMAUN.

He said he had also written letters to President A P J Abdul Kalam and Chief Minister Minister Nitish Kumar in this regard.
