Oilmeal export up by 22 per cent
Mumbai, July 10 (UNI) The export of oilmeals during June, 2006, has gone up to 2,19,650 tons, from 2,11,525 tons in the same period last year, as per the data released by Solvent Extractors' Association of India.
The total export of oilmeals during April to June (first quarter of FY-07) has gone up by 22 per cent to 8,75,200 tons, from 7,18,275 tons, due to an increase in export of soybean meal from 3,71,100 tons to 5,65,975 tons in the first quarter of FY-07, according to the release.
The export of soybean meal during April-June 2006 was 5,65,975 tons, mainly exported to Vietnam (1,70,550 tons), Indonesia (86,925 tons), Japan (81,775 tons), China (78,225 tons) and South Korea (72,750 tons). Rapeseed meal export during April-June 2006 was 2,10,725 tons, mainly exported to S Korea (85,525 tons), followed by China (55,425 tons) and Taiwan (31,250 tons).
Groundnut meal export during April-June 2006 was 43,100 tons, mainly exported to China. Taiwan was the main buyer for Castormeal (17,725 tons), followed by South Korea (16,275 tons). Rice Bran Extraction export during April-June 2006 was 21,400 tons; mainly exported to Vietnam.
The export from Kandla was 5,35,700 tons (61 per cent), followed by Mumbai at 1,49,925 tons (17 per cent), Bedi at 1,18,100 tons (14 per cent), Vizag at 44,875 tons (five per cent) and Kakinada at 26,600 tons (three per cent), as per the release.
