Nellai Kannan joins AIADMK

Chennai, July 10 (UNI) Nellai Kannan, a well-known platform speaker of the Congress, and thousands of volunteers from various political parties today joined the AIADMK in the presence of its General Secretary J Jayalalithaa.

Mr Kannan, who actively campaigned for the AIADMK in the recent Assembly elections much to the surprise of Congressmen, called on Ms Jayalalithaa at her Poes Garden residence and became a primary member of the party.

Earlier, 6,985 members including 400 women, of the ruling DMK, Congress, Pattali Makkal Katchi, the BJP, New Justice Party and the Vanniyar Sangam joined the AIADMK in the presence of Ms Jayalalithaa at her party office.

The group comprised local body representatives and functionaries of the political parties.
