NCP calls to make UPA-Left Co-ord Comm more ''broad-based''
New Delhi, July 10 (UNI) The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today demanded that the UPA-Left Coordination Committee should be widened by including representatives of other constituent parties of the alliance.
NCP General Secretary D P Tripathi said that at present, the UPA-Left Coordination Committee presently only included representatives of the Congress, and therefore, it was necessary to make this body more ''broad-based.'' The NCP had made this demand earlier also, he added.
Reacting to the NCP's demand, Congress spokesman Satyavrat Chaturvedi said he was not aware of any such demand, but if the NCP approached the Congress in this regard, his party would definitely consider the demand.
