Naga miscreants fire on Asom police

Guwahati, July 10 (UNI) Unidentified Naga miscreants today fired upon the Asom Police at Geleki after infiltrating into the State for attempting extortion from the small tea garden owners.

According to police sources, the Naga miscreants, suspected to be of NSCN (K) faction, have been harassing the local traders and businessmen for quite some time.

The police have intensified patrolling in the area and the group of Naga miscreants fired upon them when they came face to face.

There were no casualties in the incident.
