Mukut Mithi to be LG of Pondy; Lakhera shifted to Mizoram

New Delhi, July 10 (UNI) Mr Mukut Mithi has been appointed Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry in place of Lt Gen (retd) Madan Mohan Lakhera who has been shifted to Mizoram.

Bihar Governor R S Gavai has been asked to discharge the functions of Sikkim Governor V Rama Rao, who is on leave, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said today.

Lt Gen Lakhera will, however, continue to hold additional charge as LG of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The appointments of Mr Mithi and Lt Gen Lakhera would be effective from the dates they assume charge, while that of Mr Gavai takes effect from July 13.
