MIMS to set up satellite hospitals
Dubai, July 10: The Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), founded by NRI's from the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council, is set to start a chain of 'satellite hospitals' in different parts of Kerala.
As part of the first phase, the institue has acquired four acres of land at Kottakal in Maliapiuram for its first hospital MIMS chairman Azad Moopen, said the NRI community has invested Dh 50 million in setting up the MIMS Referral Hospital.
The aim of establishing satellite hospitals, here is to ensure better accessibility and affordability to quality healthcare, he said.
MIMS, which will have the Malabar region's first paediatric cardiac surgery when it becomes operational next week, will shortly set up the first voice lab and IVF fertility Centre in Malabar, Dr Moopen said.
