Manipur Board books burnt

Imphal, July 10 (UNI) The text books of Board of Secondary Education in Manipur were today burnt by student groups in Ukhrul and Chandel districts.

The Naga Students Federation (NSF) had made the call to burn school text books prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur.

Naga organisations had asked all schools in Naga dominated areas to affiliate with Nagaland board.

Officials said it is not practical for the schools of Manipur to affiliate with Nagaland Board and that will hamper the academic career of the students.
