Manchester-based company under investigation
Dubai, July 10 (UNI) Bahrain is investigating Manchester-based St Mary's International Recruitment company for allegedly charging Indian nurses thousands of dollars for jobs in the UK, US and Europe.
Cases have been filed against the owner of the company Raju Kurian.
However, he has alleged that his company's agent in Bahrain took the money from the applicants without his knowledge.
He further said out of the 31 nurses, who were promised jobs in UK by the Bahrain firm, only 18 were recruited.
Some of the victims of the job scam were stranded in Bahrain on visit visas and eventually had to be rescued by the Indian Embassy.
The company was bringing nurses to Bahrain on visit visas, after collecting money from them, Mr Kurian added.
