Machilipatnam at record temperature of 39 c

Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh July 10 (UNI) The Machilipatnam Port recorded a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius today, a record for the monsoon season, and minimum of 30, according to Meterological sources here.

During the last one week the coasal areas, including this port town were in the grip of heat-wave condtions. Due to this, hundreds of people, particularly the old and school children were hospitalised.

Meanwhile, several coastal villages were facing acute drinking water shortage due to dried up wells and tanks.
