Heavy rains predicted in next 48 hours

Kolkata, July 10 (UNI) The Met department today predicted heavy rains in the city and surrounding areas in the next 48 hours.

The city experienced occasional bouts of heavy rains yesterday.

Almost all parts of West Bengal experienced 33.2 mm of downpour, according to the Met office.

The South Westerly wind over the state has made the monsoon very active and the condition is expected to continue for next few days, the weatherman said.

The continous rainfall brought down the temperature but there was no change in the humidity level that remained constant at 97 per cent for last few days.

The weatherman have said it may rain continuously for next few days with a two day break after which the monsoon would again strike back.

The maximum temperature recorded in the day was 29.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 25.9 degrees Celsius.
