Governor urges sportsmen for new vision

Panaji, July 10 (UNI) Goa Governor S C Jamir has urged state's sportspersons to have a new vision to prepare youths of the state in various sports discipline to attain excellence at national and International level.

The Governor was speaking as a chief guest after felicitating sportspersons and organisers for their contribution in sports at a function organised by Panaji Badmintion club on the occassion of its fourth Anniversary.

Mr Jamir also said there is good infrastructure and facilities in the state to promote sports and games and children should be trained at the young age not only in Football but also in other disciplines too.

''Goa is one of the best state coming up gradually in sports, specially in football and state's football interest is known all over'' he added.

The Governor also felicitated Ananad Madgaonkr, Midrael D'Sa, Richard Vaz, Brahmanand Sankhwalkar, Bruno Coutinho, Francis D'Souza, Savioa Measies, Juliana Gurjao and Mr V M Prabhudesai with a shawl and Shreefal for their contribution in the field.
