Cop's former PA arrested in NRI Pankaj Trivedi murder case

Ahmedabad, July 10 (UNI) A policeman, a former personal assistant to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad has been arrested in connection with the murder case of US-based NRI Pankaj Trivedi.

The accused, Ghanshyam Chudasama, 31, and a staunch follower of the Swadhyay Parivar, has been charged with conspiracy and being part of the group which plotted to kill Trivedi, Deputy Commissioner of Police A K Jadeja said here today.

He is also accused of leaking crucial information regarding the progress of the investigation in arrested last night the murder case, Mr Jadeja said.

Chudasma, is the sixth person to be arrested in the case. Police had last week nabbed five members of the Swadhyay Parivar from Saurashtra.

The DCP said though his former PA was under suspicion, but had not been arrested as there was no evidence. But after the five arrested had pointed to Chudasama's involvement during their interrogation, things were made easy, he added.

Trivedi was killed on June 15 near a posh club in the heart of the city. He had reportedly irked some Swadhyay members after he raised queries about alleged financial irregularities and misappropriation of NRI funds which the Parivar had recieved for post-quake rehabilitation.
