Conference on cyber crime on July 12

New Delhi, July 10 (UNI) A conference on cyber crime to give an insight into the cyber crime scenario in the country and the ways to combat it will be organised by NASSCOM on July 12, 2006.

The purpose of the conference is to spread awareness regarding the cyber crime, involve leading industry CEOs and law enforcement agencies through discussions on the subject and come out with solutions and to showcase methodologies and tools which are parts of the solutions, said a National Association For Software and Services Companies styatement.

The conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions and presentation of case studies along with the launch of a book on compilation of some real-life cyber crime cases which have received India Cyber Cop Awards.

''With an increasing usage of Internet, the industry and the society at large are facing serious security issues. Cyber space offers a plethora of opportunities for cyber criminals to make a dishonest living at the cost of innocent people. It is therefore imperative that laws are enacted and enforced, rules are established and followed and standards are set to protect the various stakeholders in the information society,'' the statement added.
