Concept of HRD yet to reach all in India: Educationist
Sirsi, July 10 (UNI) The concept of Human Resources Development (HRD) is yet to reach the people of the country, Mr Sunny Tharappan, Director of CLHRD (College of Leadership and HRD), Mangalore, opined today.
Inaugurating the two-day FEEL (Facilitating Excellence in Effective Leadership) Teacher Effectiveness and Parent Effectiveness programme, he lamented that though the Centre had formed a ministry for the purpose in 1986, the latter had failed to achieve its motto.
HRD interventions were needed for enhancing efficiency levels and assuring quality both in the education and administration front, he pointed out.
He said CLHRD had conducted its HRD awareness programmes in 17 districts in Karnataka, besides other parts of the country. The need of the hour was to introduce the concept of HRD in school and college level so that it would help the society at large, he added.
The seminar was jointly organised by M.M.Arts and Science College, Sirsi and CLHRD, Mangalore.
