City court remands two CGHS accused to 4-day CBI custody
New Delhi, July 10 (UNI) A city court today remanded two persons accused in the Rs 4000 crore Co-operating Group Housing Scheme (CGHS) Scam, to four days CBI custody.
The investegating agency has arrested Yogi Raj and Subhas Dabas on Saturday in INALSA CGHS scam.
After hearing the arguments of both the prosecution and the defence, Patiala House Court Special Judge Indermeet Kaur Kochchar, remanded Yogi Raj and Subhas Dabas to CBI custody till July 14 for further interrogation and intensive investigation.
Both the persons in connivance with some officials in the office of registrar of cooperative socities forged the documents and allegedly misused their official position, according to a senior CBI official.
Meanwhile the court also issued a production warrant against the prime accused Narayan Diwakar, Vinod Kumar Gupta and Nanak Chand for tomorrow. All the persons are lodged in Tihar jail.
Both Yogi Raj and Subhash were arrested under sections 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy), 419 (Cheating by Impersonation), 420 (Cheating), 467 (Forgery of Valuable Security), 468 (Forgery for the purpose of Cheating), 471 (Using Forged documents as Genuine) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 12 (1) (d) and 13 (2) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
