Both the houses of Karnataka legislature adjourned amid nosiy scenes

Bangalore, July 10 (UNI) Both the houes of Karnataka legislature were today adjourned for over an hour following noisy scenes, dharna and fiery exchange of words between ruling and opposition members on the allegation that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had allegedly taken a bribe from the mining lobby.

The opposition Congress temporarily withdrew its demand for a CBI Probe into 'irregularities' in the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor and wanted the allegation of BJP MLC Janardhan Reddy, that Mr Kumaraswamy had accepted a bribe of Rs 150 crore from the mining lobby to be discussed through an adjournment motion.

Speaker Krishna said that he had disallowed the motion and wanted the Congress to raise it in some other form. However with noisy scenes persisting the speaker adjourned the house for lunch break.

In the Legislative Council, the opposition Congress made a similar bid and demanded that the issue be taken up immediately even before the question hour. Amidst noisy scenes Chairman Sachidanand Khot adjourned the house for an hour.
