BHEL receives order from Tata Power Company

New Delhi, Jul 10: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) today announced that it received an order from Tata Power Company (TPC) for a 250 MW Thermal Power Station (TPS).

The equipment for the present contract will be manufactured at the company's Haridwar, Trichy, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Bhopal and Jhansi plants, while its Power Sector- Western Region, will be responsible for erection and commissioning of the equipment.

This is the first order secured by BHEL where the boiler will be designed to suit firing of imported coal, a company statement said.

The company has earlier supplied equipment and provided services for 500 MW Units 5&6 and the combined cycle plant at Unit-7 at the same power plant of TPC.

BHEL has also recently won contract from an Independent Power Producer for a thermal power project comprising 4 units of 250 MW each, in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.
