Another pleasant day for Delhiites, more rains expected today
New Delhi, July 10 (UNI) It was another pleasant day in Delhi as the thick monsoon clouds, coupled with cool North Westerly winds, continued to provide relief from the scorching heat of the last week even as weathermen forecast more rains during the day, following heavy showers yesterday.
The overcast sky and the cool North Westerlies plummeted the minimum temperature this morning to 24 degree Celsius, from 28 degrees yesterday even as light rains continued last night as well as this morning.
The capital yesterday recieved its first Monsoon rains as the South west monsoon advanced into Delhi and parts of West Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Haryana yesterday morning.
''The Northern Limit of Monsoon as on today, passes through 24 degree N/64 degree E, 24 degree N/68 degreeE, Udaipur, Gwalior, Agra, Delhi, Ambala and Amritsar,'' the weather office said.
The Monsooon rains, which began at around 1100 Hours, ended the long wait of people of Delhi for the Southwest Monsoon, which was earlier scheduled to arrive in the capital on June 29.
The weather office said nearly 20 mm of rainfall has been recorded in the capital till 1130 Hrs today.
Weatherman say the coming days could witness more spells of rain and thundershowers, thus promising a pleasant weather for the people in the coming week.
The met office has forecast a generally cloudy sky with more spells of thundershowers in the capital during the next 24 hours UNI AR YA GC1430
