All India bank strike on July 28
Jaipur, July 10 (UNI) The All India Bank Officers Association has called a nationwide bank strike on July 28, coinciding with the first day of monsoon session of the Parliament.
Rajasthan Bank Employees Union, Deputy General Secretary Lokesh Mishra said that bank employees will hold a joint demonstration tomorrow during lunch break near the MI road branch of Dena Bank as a precursor to the strike.
The gathering will be addressed by All India Bank Employees Association's national joint-secretary and Rajasthan Bank Employees Union's state general secretary Mahesh Mishra and others, a statement said.
The employees are protesting against outsourcing of general bank work and also demanding recruitments in more than one lakh vacant posts.
They are also protesting against central government's move of bank mergers and privatisation of nationalised banks.
The strike was initially proposed on August 1 but as the Parliament's monsoon session begins on July 28, the date of the strike was preponed.
