ABC Asia Pacific Becomes 'Australia Network'

New Delhi, July 10 (UNI) Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Asia Pacific has been renamed 'Australia Network'.

'Australia Network' will be launched on August 7 across Asia offering news, documentaries, drama and lifestyle programmes, the Australian High Commission here said today.

Launching during August will be Focus, a brand new current affairs programme airing Tuesdays and Thursdays. Featuring live coverage from around the region, it will be produced exclusively for Australia Network by the respected ABC TV news and current affairs division.

With a focus on matters relevant to the region there will be in-depth analysis of the day's events with evening news bulletins three times every night accompanied by exclusive reports from correspondents in New Delhi, Beijing, South Pacific and Jakarta in addition to ABC correspondents from around the world.

There will also be the 'Study English' programme designed to help students prepare for study overseas or improve their career prospects.

Another programme, 'Business English', will focus on helping people improve their career prospects by learning the world's global language of business.

Other programmes include dramas 'Home and Away', award-winning police series 'Blue Hellers' and hospital drama 'All Saints' besides sports coverage.
