Young artists'team back from Europe tour
Mumbai, July 9 (UNI) It was the realization of their long cherished for the young artists from four regions of the counrty who got a lifetime opportunity of visiting three European cities, after winning the exhibitions held by the Camel Art Foundation in the year 2005.
The 10-member team of eight artists from the winners of four regional art exhibitions held by Camel Art foundation, and two Art professors returned from a 10-day tour of Europe to the city yesterday after visiting Paris, Rome and Florence.
Camlin Limited's Chairman and Managing Director Dilip Dandekar, told reporters that the Camel Art Foundation has been instituted in 1997 basically to promote art activities and create a platform for budding artists.
The ten-member team, which attended the press meet, called the tour as an unique experience for them which gave them the opportunity to see the rich art collection in these museums.
They were also impressed by the art preservation techniques.
In Paris the team visited Louvre, Orsay Museum, Picasso, Pompidou Centre; in Rome the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and Galleria Nazional d' arte Modern and in Florence, Bargello.
The team consisted of Deepak Madhukar Sonar, Pune, Avinash Mokashe, Mumbai, Praful Bhimraj Sawant, Nashik, Kazi Nasir, Howrah, Sankha Banerjee, Kolkata, Dr Manisha Patil, Nagpur, Mrs Shobha Ghare, Bhopal, Ujjwal Bhattacharya, Camline official, Kolkata, Mrs Anjani Reddy and Srinivas Reddy from Hyderabad.
