Venkaiah Naidu terms UPA Government anti-farmer
Visakhapatnam, July 9 (UNI) BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu today charged the UPA Government with fuelling price rise and pursuing anti-poor and anti-farmer policies in the country.
Speaking to newspersons here, he said his party would launch second phase of nation-wide agitation to protest against the ''anti- farmer policies'' of the UPA Government.
The agitation would be announced on July 12 and would be carried out across the country from third week of July till the commencement of the parliament session.
Mr Naidu said the party had appointed a small committee consisting of himself and other leaders like Arun Jaitely and Ananth Kumar to chalkout plans to launch the second phase of the nationwide agitation against the UPA government.
He criticised the Congress for being ''insensitive'' to the sufferings of the people. ''The government was clueless about the unprecedented price rise of all essential commodities,'' he said.
He alleged that the Congress and the Communists, instead of addressing the real issues, were playing petty politics.
