Suzlon to develop Rs 1000 cr windmill project in K'taka
Uchila, Karnataka, July 9 (UNI) Suzlon, a multintionala company, is planning to set up a windmill manufacturing unit near Padubidre in Udupi district at a cost of Rs 1000 crore, its Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh Chief V S Pandya announced today.
Giving the project details at a meeting here, he said the porject would be completed in five years' time.
Allaying the fears in the minds of the localites and environmentalists, he said the proposed unit was not a power generating unit, but only a windmill manufacturing unit. Once completed, the unit would provide employment to 1000 local youths, he assured.
Speaking on the occasion, Medical Education and district incharge Minister V S Acharya said Suzlon was a 100 per cent export-oriented India based MNC.
Dr Acharya, Ms Manorama Madhwaraj, MP, government officials and localites took part in the meeting.
