Patil appeals citizens to maintain peace in State

Mumbai, July 9 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Minister R R Patil has appealed to the people to maintain peace in the city and across the state.

Mr Patil, who also holds the home portfolio, told mediapersons that he had already discussed the issue with Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray.

Mr Thackeray, had assured him to help the government maintain peace as well as law and order in the state, he added.

The home minister said the incident of defacement of the statue of late Meenatai Thackeray is shameful and the Shiv Sena activists are only adding fuel to the incident by taking law into their own hands.
