Nortel to improve communication in SMEs
New Delhi, July 9 (UNI) In a bid to facilitate speedy communication in the small scale sector Canadian telecom company Nortel plans to reach their United Communication services to SMEs and state governments in India.
''These services which involve rapid communication within a closed network between a specific number of geographically separated entities, are presently hired by the high-tech workers in IT and ITeS sectors to work on real time communication and removing barriers to access,'' Nortel Asia Pacific Product and Solutions Marketing Mitch Radomir said while talking to reporters.
The service is available in economy, business and premium categories costing around 33,000 dollar, 53,000 dollar and 80,000 dollar respectively for a network of 100 users each.
''The company is going to launch small business products (SMP) in September and are further embarking on SMEs and other small segments,'' said Nortel India Director Sales Dhananjaj Ganjoo.
The service provided by the company is a single environment that blends unified communication with unified applicaion in a network based services model, Mr Radomir said.
Nortel's multimedia communication server (MCS) 5100, a network-based, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) application delivery solution integrates IP telephony, multimedia conferencing, instant messaging, presence and other collaboration tools to the employees-anywhere, anytime, increasing user mobility, enhancing productivity, improving the effectiveness of communications and reducing communication costs.
Moreover, we are also in discussion with various state governemnt for which roadshows are being organised all over the country, he added.
