NJP's youth wing urges Centre to implement reservation
Chennai, July 9 (UNI) The youth wing of the New Justice Party (NJP) today appealed to the Centre to immediately implement the 27 per cent reservation for OBCs in the Central government educational institutions and job avenues.
In a statement here, NJP State youth wing President and Secretary N S Udhayakumar and S A Rajaram said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the special conference of the party's youth wing held here today, under the leadership of Party's organising Secretary R D Sethuraman.
They said the meeting, while thanking the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for putting on hold the disinvestment plans in all Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) including the NLC and NALCO, wanted the Centre to give up the disinvestment plans permanently.
The meeting also appealed to Tamil Nadu government to include all Mudaliyar communities in the Most Backward Class (MBC) list.
The meeting wanted the party to face the ensuing local body elections in the state on its own and authorise the party founder President A C Shanmugam to take appropriate decision in this regard.
