Dullo for winnability of candidates assembly tickets

Rampura Phul, Bathinda, July 9 (UNI) Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Shamsher Singh Dullo today categorically said that winnability of candidate would be the sole criterion for the allotment of tickets to the aspirants for the forthcoming state assembly elections.

Addressing mediapersons after presiding over a public rally here, Mr Dullo said popularity of the candidates among the party workers and the people of the area would also be given due weightage in the process of the allotment of tickets.

Replying to another question about the flight of industry from the state, Mr Dullo said the state government was fully seized of the situation and Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had also apprised and impressed upon the Centre for the announcement of a similar package of incentives as given to the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh.

He said the personal initiatives and efforts on the part of Capt Singh had resulted in bringing the proposed investment of Rs 73,000 crore for setting up 209 mega projects with an employment potential of ten lakh jobs.

He said the prospective investors and entrepreneurs from India as well as overseas were taking keen interest to invest in Punjab due to the congenial and investor-friendly atmosphere, he added Punjab was now looked as one of the most favoured investment destinations in the world.

On the law and order situation, Mr Dullo said Punjab was far better than other states in the country as far as the law and order situation was concerned. He lauded the Punjab Police as one of the best and efficient police forces in the country.
