Budget session of Asom Assembly

Guwahati, July 9: The budget session of the Asom Assembly starts from tomorrow as the new Government is all set to present their first budget on the opening day itself.

Hectic preparations are on and floor coordination meetings are being held in both the treasury benches as well as opposition benches.

Although the opposition has more members than the members they had in last assembly, a coordination is yet to be seen and some floor level coordinations are expected between the BJP, AGP and Left parties.

The finance portfolio is held by the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and he will present the budget tomorrow.

There will be total nine working days and it will end on July 24.

The budget is expected to be a harsh one as the Congress returned to power with a thumping majority. However, the Chief Minister said that interest of every section of the society will be taken care of.

The opposition is expected to grill the treasury bench on the issue of price rise, rural health care and ''office of profit'' issue.
