BJP urges govt to take measures to establish peace in State

Nagpur, July 9 (UNI) BJP Maharashtra unit President Nitin Gadkari today urged the government to take measures to establish peace in the State where rioutous situation was created following the defacement of statue of late Meenatai Thackerey, wife of Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray.

In a statement issued here, Mr Gadkari strongly condemned the incident and demanded immediate arrests of the anti-social elementls responsible for hurting the feelings of the Shiv sainiks who treat late Meenatai as mother.

Mr Gadkari, who is the member of the State Legislative Council, said he would raise the issue in the house and ask the government to identify those who are deliberately are trying to create unrest in the society.

He also appealed to the agitating Shiv Sainiks to maintain peace in their respective localities.
