AP gram panchayat poll schedule announced

Hyderabad, Jul 9 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission had issued notification and announced poll schedule for the gram panchayat elections in the state.

Addressing a press conference here today, Election Commissioner A V S Reddy said the elections would be held in three phases for 21,354 rpt 21,354 gram panchayats in 22 districts of the state from July 29 to August six.

Announcing the poll schedule he said the first phase of elections for 26 divisions would be held on July 29.

The second phase covering 28 divisions will be conducted on August second and the third and last phase for 25 divisions on August six.

The date of issue of election notice by returning officers and the date of display of ward-wise electoral rolls of gram panchayat on the notice board would be July 15.

Nominations will be received from July 15 to July 19 and the scrutiny held on July 20.
