Anand Thakur elected district president of NCP

Thane, July 9 (UNI) Anand Thakur, a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader from Vangaon in Dahanu taluka of this district, was today elected as president of the Thane district (rural) committee of the party.

Another leader Tanaji Deshmukh of Murbad was elected executive president of the party.

This was announced to newspersons here today by the party observer Javed Khan, who was an observer for the elections.

Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik and Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council Vasant Davkhare were also present.

Also, elected earlier were the president of the Thane city district unit Ashok Raul and Gopinath Patil as the president of the Navi Mumbai unit of the party.

All the office-bearers of the taluka and block unit were present for the party elections, it was stated.
