AIFF to inspect Santosh Trophy preparations in Kashmir
Srinagar, July 9 (UNI) The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will send its observers here by July-end to check infrastructure and facilities for hosting the next Santosh Trophy.
Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) President Zameer Ahmad Thakur told UNI that they have shortlisted three grounds for hosting the Santosh Trophy.
He said JKFA members will meet Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad tomorrow to discuss important issues regarding the holding of Santosh trophy here.
Thakur said three grounds which have been identified are -- Pologround (West), Bakshi Stadium and Amar Singh Collage.
However, he lamented the lack of infrastructure and stressed on the need for upgrading the stadiums to the national level.
''Tentatively, the Santosh Trophy has been allotted to us. The AIFF will send its observers here by July-end to check infrastructure and other facilities available,'' Thakur added.
He said the observers will then submit their report to the AIFF for final decision on hosting the next edition of the tournament.
