123 Posts to be filled up

Pondicherry, July 9(UNI)As many as 123 posts in the municipalities and commne panchayats will be filled up through indirect election on July 14.

District collector Theva Neethi Das told a press conference here today that the posts of Municipal vice-chairman,commune panchayat vice-chairman and village panchayat presidents would be elected through the indirect elections.

Municipal Chairmen and village panchayat presidents could not cast their votes in this election and hence, 1035 rpt 1035 elected representatives will exercise their franchise in the elections on July 14.

MrDas said the election has been notified and the filing of nomnations,scrutiny and withdrawal would be done on the same day.

Elections would be conducted if necessary.
