Union Minister pulls up Bihar govt for recent killings
Patna, July 8 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh drew Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's attention towards the recent killings in Lalganj of Vaishali district and demanded a high level probe into the incident.
In his letter, copy of which was distrubuted in the press today, Mr Singh said that a Rashtriya Janata Dal activist was killed in the presence of police at Ghataro village on July seven. Prior to the killing, a body was recovered in the same village on the night of July six, Mr Singh said.
Mr Singh said no senior police officer had so far inspected the spot and the police administration's attitude has created resentment among the common people.
The Union minister demanded Mr Kumar to initiate concrete steps for minimising tension in the area following the incident and ensure stern action against the culprits after an impartial probe.
