TRS will not hesitate to join BJP on Telangana issue: Rao

Hyderabad, July 8 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti(TRS), a constituent of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, will not hesitate to join hands with the BJP-led NDA if there was further delay in grant of statehood for Telangana, TRS President and Union Labour Minister K Chandrasekara Rao said today.

Addressing the party workers at the ''Telangana Bhavan'', the party headquarters here, he opined that the delay on the part of the Congress on the statehood issue, was responsible for the setback in the recent Local Body Polls.

Maintaining that the process of formation Telangana state was in the fag-end, he asked the party cadres not to be misled by media reports raising question mark over the formation of Telangana after the TRS drubbing in the Local Body Elections.

The Congress party was mainly responsible for the reversals in the Local Body polls, he claimed, adding that he would come only once in August for a private function here and would be stationed in the National capital thereafter to pursue the goal with full vigour.

''I will return to Hyderabad only after getting a assurance from the Congress for either to celebrate formation of the new state or in case of failure to launch a massive agitation'', he said amidst huge applause.

Earlier, at a party meeting, the TRS leader complained that the failure of congress to ensure retirement of its candidates in those seats allocated to the TRS was responsible for the party's poor show. The party should take claim for Chairman's post at least in one Zilla Parishad as the party's support was crucial for the Congress to win the Chairman's post in three Zilla Parishads.
