Stage set for INSAT 4-C launch: Madhavan Nair
Chennai, July 8 (UNI) Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) Chairman Madhavan Nair today said all the preparations for the launch of INSAT 4-C from SHAR centre at Sriharikota on July 10 were going on satisfactorily.
''We had a rehearsal yesterday. The results are good'', he told newsmen at the aiport.
He said based on rehearsal results the clearance for starting the final countdown has been given. The final countdown will start tomorrow and the launch will take place at about 1600 hrs on Monday.
Mr Nair said INSAT 4 C was basically a communications satellite and would be extremely helpful in providing Direct-To-Home(DTH) services. about 100 channels could be beamed and 100s of villages which had no cable connections would be benefitted, he added.
