Rajnath flays UPA's failure to check price rise
Jodhpur, Jul 8: BJP national president Rajnath Singh here today said the UPA government has been unable to check the rising prices in its two-year rule.
Mr Singh, here to participate in the two-day state executive meeting, while addressing party workers outside railway station said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had kept the prices under control in its six-year rule.
He said the unusual price rise during UPA's rule was causing major incovenience to common man.
Earlier the BJP president was given a war, welcome by party workers on his arrival here by Mandor Express. He garlanded the statue of former and late Maharaja Umaid Singh outside the railway station.
Accusing the central government of protecting the blackmarketeers and corrupt people, Mr Singh said the common man has realised now that former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee never compromised with the dignity and integrity of the country. He said without bothering about US's guidelines and reactions, Mr Vajpayee ordered five nuclear explosions in Pokhran and showed India's power to the world.
Thanking the people of Rajasthan for reposing faith in the BJP and giving them a tumultous victory in the last Assmebly elections, he said the state government will try to fulfill all its promises.
Rajasthan state party president Dr Mahesh Sharma, incharge of state affairs Kalraj Mishra, home minister Gulabchand Kataria, MP Jaswant singh Bishnoi, Narayan Singh Manaklao and other party workers were present to welcome Mr Singh.
