Rain God blesses Kolkata

Kolkata, July 8 (UNI) At last the Rain God poured tears of smile on Kolkatans as the city experienced some showers today.

Respite came as it rained heavily last night slashing down the temperature level compared to last few days when weather was sultry and very uncomfortable.

However, it rained cats and dogs today towards the noon that continued for hours and almost all the parts of the city and nearby areas enjoyed the shower.

The weatherman have forecast more thundershowers in the next few hours and had warned people in the coastal areas not to venture into the sea.

According to the met office, the maximum temperature recorded today was 34.5 degrees Celsius and minimum of 28.8 degrees Celsius with a relative humidity of 92 per cent.
